Class Description: Unlock the world of sewing with our beginner-friendly class where you'll learn the basics of using a sewing machine while creating a stylish and practical reversible pillowcase tote bag. This hands-on workshop is perfect for those new to sewing or looking to refresh their skills in a fun and creative way.

What You'll Learn:

  • How to set up and operate a sewing machine

  • Basic sewing techniques and stitches

  • Measuring and cutting fabric accurately

  • Aligning and pinning fabric pieces for sewing

  • Creating sturdy seams and securing straps

Project Overview: Each student will bring two pressed pillowcases to class, which will serve as the foundation for our project. We'll guide you step-by-step through the process of cutting the pillowcases down to size, aligning them properly, and sewing them together to create a reversible tote bag. You'll also learn how to add a simple strap and sew it on securely for a polished, professional finish.

Materials Needed:

  • Two pressed pillowcases of your choice (pre-washed and ironed)

  • Basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, measuring tape, etc.)

  • Sewing machine (BYO)

Outcome: By the end of the class, you'll walk away with a beautiful, large pillowcase tote bag perfect for a shopping trip or carrying squishmallows to an sleepover! More importantly, you'll have gained the confidence and skills to tackle more sewing projects on your own.
